Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
This policy explains what information Enduro Hub collects when you use our website, our WhatsApp assistant “Jeremy” and our app, how we use it, what other riders can see, and the choices you have.
1. Information we collect
When you use Enduro Hub we may collect: your name; your phone number; your email address (if you sign in with Google); your device location; a profile photo you upload or that we import from your WhatsApp profile; the riding profile and preferences you provide (such as your motorcycle, home region and gender); the messages, photos and locations you send in a ride chat; the questions you send to our assistant “Jeremy” on WhatsApp and in the app; hashes of your phone contacts, only if you choose to look for friends there (see section 4); and basic, non-identifying usage data that helps us improve the service.
2. How we use it
We use your information to run the service: to connect you with rides and riders in your area, to let the people on a ride coordinate with each other, to answer your questions, to send you news and updates you have opted into, and to keep the platform safe and improve it.
3. What other riders can see
Most of your information is visible only to us. Three things are visible to other riders, and only to the riders on a ride you have joined or lead. Your name, profile photo and motorcycle appear beside your messages and in the ride's participant list. Your phone number is shown to those riders so they can call you if you are late, lost or separated from the group - this is on by default, matching what a WhatsApp ride group already exposed, and you can turn it off at any time in the app under Settings → Privacy. Your live position is shown only while you switch it on, and only during a ride that is running (see the next section). Riders who are not on the ride see none of this.
4. Your phone contacts and invitations
The app can find which of your phone contacts already ride here, but only when you ask it to (Friends → Friends from contacts) and after it has explained what happens. Your address book is read on your phone and is never uploaded or stored: each number is turned into a one-way hash on the device, and only the hashes are sent to our servers, where they are compared with the numbers of registered riders and then discarded. We never learn the numbers of people who are not riders here. Separately, you can choose specific contacts to invite to the app: for each person you pick, we send one SMS in your name with your personal invitation link. For that we receive the number you chose; we keep only a hash of it, so that the same phone is not invited again for a month and so that a person who joins through your invitation is credited to you. Contact access is optional, and you can withdraw it at any time in your phone's settings.
5. Live location during a ride
The riders map is deliberately narrow. Your position is shared only when you switch it on, only with the riders on the same ride, and only while that ride is running - from an hour before it starts until it ends. It is off every time you open the screen and is never remembered from a previous ride, leaving the screen switches it off, and switching it off deletes your position rather than hiding it. We store your current position only, never a history or a track of where you rode, and positions are deleted when the ride is over. Sharing works only while the app is open on your screen; if you put the phone away your position stops updating and stops being shown after a few minutes. The map is a convenience for finding the group, not a safety or emergency system - do not rely on it in an emergency.
6. Ride chats
Every ride has a chat that only its participants and its leader can read or write in. Messages, photos and shared locations are stored on our servers so the conversation is there when you open it, and they stay with the ride after it ends so you can look back at it. Please do not send sensitive information there. We do not read these conversations as a matter of course, and nobody on our side takes part in them - but see the section on reports and moderation below for the one case where a member of our team may look.
7. Reports, blocking and moderation
Messages are checked automatically against a list of prohibited words before they are sent; no message content is sent to an AI provider for this. Riders can report a message and block another rider from inside the app. When a report is made, or when a rider complains to us, a member of our team may read the conversation it concerns in order to answer it and to decide whether to remove a message or suspend an account. Access to this is restricted to administrators. We keep reports, and messages that have been removed, so that a complaint keeps its evidence.
8. Third-party services we use
Enduro Hub relies on a few third-party services to work: WhatsApp (operated by Meta) for the assistant and group messaging; AI providers such as OpenAI to power Jeremy, to which the text of your questions may be sent to generate an answer; Google Sign-In, if you choose to log in with your Google account; Twilio, to deliver SMS verification codes to your phone; Firebase (Google) and Apple Push Notification service, to deliver push notifications to your device; and OpenStreetMap, which supplies the map tiles our maps are drawn on. We do not sell your personal data or share it for advertising.
9. The AI assistant (“Jeremy”)
Jeremy is an AI assistant, not a person. When you send it a question on WhatsApp or in the app, the text of that question - together with the profile details needed to make the answer relevant (your display name, home region and motorcycle) - is sent from our servers to OpenAI, which generates the answer. We ask you for your consent inside the app before the first question is sent. Please do not include sensitive information (payment details, medical or other special-category data) in your questions. Your conversation is stored in your account so you can continue it later, and it is deleted when you delete your account. AI answers can be wrong; do not rely on them for safety, medical or legal decisions. Jeremy does not read the ride chats.
10. Notifications
We send you ride and news notifications you have opted into, and notifications about rides you are on - including messages in their chats. To deliver them we store a device notification token, and you can opt out at any time from the app or by messaging us on WhatsApp.
11. Data retention and security
We keep your information only for as long as we need it to provide the service, and we take reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect it against loss or unauthorized access. Live positions are the exception in the other direction: they are deleted as soon as sharing stops or the ride ends.
12. Your rights and deleting your account
You can view and update your profile at any time. You can also permanently delete your account from inside the app: Profile → Delete account. Deleting the account permanently erases your profile, your ride registrations, your conversations with Jeremy and the rest of your personal data; it cannot be undone. Messages you sent in a ride chat remain visible to the riders who were in that chat, without your name attached. You can also ask us to remove your data by writing to [email protected], and we will respond within a reasonable time.
13. Cookies and local storage
Our website uses minimal cookies and browser local storage - mainly to remember your language and light/dark theme preferences.
14. Children
Enduro Hub is intended for riders aged 16 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 16.
15. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we do, we will post the updated version on this page with a new date.
16. Contact
If you have any questions about this policy or your data, contact us at [email protected].
